Skies Exhibition Acceptance.
I was delighted to have both my submissions accepted into the 5th Annual Skies Art Exhibition with Fusion Art. Of course being a favorite subject of mine, I had to spend a lot of time looking at the other entries! Have a look yourself, there are some stunning paintings and photography in there.
Cloud Appreciation Society
One of the most enjoyable emails I receive is the Cloud Appreciation Society, and here’s the latest. In this there’s a survey to ask if you think there should be a (I assume we’re talking international here) Cloud Appreciation Day. If we can have National Cupcake Eating Day, why not?
Cloud Appreciation Society Newsletter
I enjoy the Cloud Appreciation Society’s newsletter on a sporadic basis (when it turns up), but I’m also a member of one of the local Cloudspotter groups. Here in the low desert, we don’t get a lot of clouds, but a couple days ago we had some cooler damper weather and I was happy to not only be able to post a beautiful sunrise to the group, but for the fact that it was actually cloudy all day.
Grey Cube Skies show
I was pleased to be accepted into the Grey Cube Gallery Skies show recently, with my refractured watercolor ‘Crimson Thread’. One of the things I’m enjoying about so many online shows is that it’s really practical for me to enter them! Enjoy the show!
The world is turning into dawn, and I
can see a crimson thread start to appear
announcing that the newest day is near –
it makes me greet the beauty with a sigh.
Soon the ribbon’s red will turn to gold
and other wisps softly to scarlet turn –
water, under influence of light will burn
such colors that it awes us to behold
the transition from nighttime into day
and cause to wonder how we could deserve
this vision – just for living on a curve –
and leaves us without words that we can say,
only the thought that perhaps we should do right
to earn the reward that brings the end of night.
Another Forever home
The title of this painting is ‘And Never Leave…’ I’m glad to say that it has found its forever home with one of my favorite collectors!
Dawn off my back porch (there’s a new one every day but few look as good as this one). The poem written for this painting and painted into it is:
To step into a place and just belong
to stand within a sky and to believe
to raise your head, look up and to behold
and never leave, and never leave, and never leave.

I’ve missed posting the last couple newsletters….something to do with having been on a mental hiatus from normal art life for half a year… but here’s one I couldn’t resist. The time lapses of the storms are especially spectacular. I’ve been more inspired my clouds since we’ve had actual ‘weather’ here recently instead of the plain cerulean dome. The California low desert needs a bigger share of the rain from the storms now sweeping in (just not on weekends as there is the occasional art fair back in existence now…..).

4th Annual Skies Exhibition
It’s my pleasure to announce that one of my paintings was accepted into the 4th Annual Skies Exhibition with Fusion Arts. I guess I have been working with Fusion for quite a while as I was accepted in the 3rd Annual also. And further joy, as they’re local to me, I was able to meet them a couple years ago – back when we met people IRL!
