Upside down clouds

Echoes

#1111, “Echoes”. Watercolor collage on float panel. 8×8″. $80.

When I was selecting pieces to put together this collage, I liked the clouds in the center and upper right of the piece because, when I had turned them upside down, they somewhat reminded me of the fronds of a fan palm.  How do I know the clouds are upside down?  When the sky is creating the colors depicted in the original painting, the sun is below them, hence their shadowy side will be on top.  But, artistic license, I twizzed them around, which made sense once the palm tree was added, echoing the shapes.
