My grandmother would say that. Which is good in some ways, if you have different things to try…

I painted this dawn as a demonstration at Artoberfest in Moreno Valley back in 2012.  The sky above the main clouds was originally dark blue, but I didn’t like it, it wasn’t right, so I repainted that area in a lighter, cobalt blue.  Still too vibrant.  I was considering throwing it away then was looking at some sky photos where the lower clouds were a similar color – above, the sky was paler gray fading to gray-blue.  So I repainted and third time is a charm!  Now I’m happy with it.  And in time for the Art Under the Umbrellas this weekend.  I’ll be in a different spot – still on the south side of the street, but across from the lawn.
