This afternoon I have been watching thunderheads brewing over the Chocolate Mountains to the east of the Salton Sea, and see that they are now fading as we approach sunset. This September evening is not going to look like August Afternoon. Oh well. Perhaps Mecca and Bombay Beach have had a little rain, but our weekend forecast for thunder has been cancelled apparantly.
Despite the fact it is still hot in the afternoon, we have definately felt the turn of the season. It is cool enough at night to not use the a/c and sleep with the window open. The rabbitbrush is starting to bloom and yesterday I saw a dove investigating some sticks as potential nesting material.
But maybe, just maybe we can squeeze in one more thunderstorm before winter.
